OMEGABYTE started in September 1992. Computers first, then networks, then the things nobody photographs for a website: cameras, card readers, phone systems, the cable in the ceiling. The work has always been the same — put something in a business that keeps working after the installer drives away.
That is a harder standard than it sounds. It is why this company still exists while most of the ones that started alongside it do not.
AI is new. Installing something in a small business so it survives contact with a Tuesday is not new. It is the entire job, and it is the part most people selling AI to Austin businesses right now have never done.
Who runs it
Shawn founded it, and still answers the phone.
When you hire us you get Shawn on every interview and every monthly call. That is not a service level, it is a constraint, and it is why we only take three new businesses a month. He built the company in 1992 and has been the one showing up ever since.
